GIDGEE TRIP 2025: The Journey Begins . . .Again!!
Posted on September 09 2025
Our hand planes begin life 1,500 km west, deep in the Australian outback. Each tree is carefully chosen, inspected, and harvested with respect. The mighty Gidgee yields billets as heavy as 50 kg, sealed and wrapped for the journey home.
Days are spent in heat and dust; nights rewarded with cold beer and country pub meals.
Back at the workshop, billets are catalogued and left to slowly season for years.
From desert to bench, every plane carries a story of grit, craft, and country.
