Important note about dog holes
The Front Vice does not come standard with dog holes drilled in the top of the vice, although they may appear in some product photos and videos.
You can select this option before checkout. We will drill two dog holes, positioned 40mm from each end, giving 150mm spacing between the holes. We find this to be a practical and versatile setup for most benches.
If you would prefer custom spacing, please email us before ordering, as this will need to be customised at an additional cost.
If you choose to drill dog holes yourself after receiving the vice, we recommend drilling no larger than 1/2". Larger holes may compromise the jaw and will void the warranty.

The new HNT wide jaw vice is a delight to use. With very little pressure, work is held firmly in place. I had an earlier version of the tail vice and my new one has a few improvements including the way dust and shavings clear from the mechanism. Just a small thing but attention to detail makes for better tools. The holdfasts work really well and are quicker than using clamps. The quality of the machining is exceptional. After watching Terry on the utube video-Advanced Work Holding, I built a new Blackwood bench and install the hardware and safe to say I’m very very happy with the whole package.
