Jointer Plane

$654.00 AUD
Blade Type

This Jointer plane (otherwise known as a Trying plane) has a higher blade angle of 60 degrees for hard, cranky timbers. Alternative use as a cabinet scraper by reversing the blade. Used for flattening very long surfaces, and jointing long boards.

This jointer plane is from 610mm long up to 685mm long x 70mm wide X 48mm high. Please specify the length you want as they can be made to suit. Weighs 3.1 Kg and has the option of a 50mm wide x 6mm thick x 110mm long Tool Steel (TS) blade hardened to Rc 62-64, or a High Speed Steel (HSS) blade hardened to Rc 62. The HSS is ideal if you plan to reverse the plane to bevel up and use it as a scraper on hard timber.

It has a 60 degrees blade angle for planing or 90 degrees for scraping by reversing the blade to bevel up. The Handle allows the plane to be pushed or pulled and is removable on a taper. Made from Gidgee.

Flattening of any very long timber surface or for jointing very long boards over 1.8m. Works very well when used on a long shooting board.

Made for Aussie hardwoods

As a user of primarily recycled Australian hardwoods it’s the only plane for the job hands down. Brings the surface to life with the hss blade and burnished finish. A dream to use
