Bargain Gidgee Jack Plane

This gidgee Jack plane is only a bargain due to have a small section of sapwood as seen in the second photo. This does not affect the life and function of the plane.  

If you don't have a mechanical jointer to dress your boards, a jack plane/scrub plane is the ideal tool for taking a rough sawn board to the point where it can be dressed with a trying/smoothing plane to achieve a flat surface. 

It has a blade angle of 55 degrees for planing hard, cranky timbers. Alternate use as a 85 degree cabinet scraper by reversing the blade. It is 300mm long x 67mm wide x 38mm high. Weighs 1.3Kg 

This plane has no brass insert in the mouth as it is not required for the task it performs. Comes with a TS blade.
