This 1/2 inch gidgee shoulder plane is built for accurate joinery clean up. It excels at trimming tenon shoulders across the grain, tuning small rebates with the grain, and sneaking up on a perfect fit where a chisel can feel a bit too enthusiastic.
The high blade pitch helps it stay in control on hard, cranky timbers and it also behaves beautifully on end grain. The blade can be reversed to work as a cabinet scraper when grain gets stubborn.
