Specialty Snakewood 3/4" Shoulder Plane
This Snakewood 3/4" Shoulder Plane is stamped and signed as the 14th one ever made, making it a collectors item. It is used to clean up the shoulders of tenons across the grain or a rebate with the grain.
It is 178mm long x 3/4" wide x 60mm high. Weighs 0.6 Kg and has a 3/16" thick x 3/4" wide Tool steel blade hardened to Rc 62-64.
It has a 60 degree blade angle for planing or a 90 degree angle for scraping. It acts as a 90 degree scraper when you reverse the blade to bevel up, which works well on hard and cranky grain.

My trusty 1/4 HNT shoulder plane has been a delight to use so I thought the 3/4 would really step up my capabilities. Spying the Snake Wood edition only added to my rationale. The plane design is perfect for the task, easy to set and use, cranky and end grain has no chance to tear. Beauty, simplicity in design and a pleasure to use.
