Large Flat Sole Spoke Shave
It has a 55 degrees blade pitch for planing, and by reversing the blade to bevel up it will perform as a scraper for use of hard cranky woods. The mouth is protected by a brass sole.

An exceptional tool. I had a certain amount of buyers remorse after purchase despite already having bought several superb planes from Terry as I had not had much experience with spokeshaves and what little I did have was not all that favourable. This spoke shave changed all of that - it is a positive joy to use and I could not list the number of uses I’ve put it to. It now lives within arms reach on the bench.

I purchased both the flat and round spokeshaves to help make a set of 8 rings in cherry. The designer assumed a lathe, which I don't have, or a template and router, which I tried & found scarry. These spokeshaves did a super job. The smallest rings had an inside diameter of 78 mm but the curved bottom shave and a cabinet scraper did a fine job. A real pleasure to use.
