This mallet is made with Indian Rosewood. It is a light weight mallet designed for setting or adjusting blades in wooden planes. A brass retaining nut holds the head onto the handle and has HNT Gordon stamped in it.
We use a head with a heavier wood to the handle to give the mallet balance.
Note: timber may vary in grain pattern compared to the one in the photo.
