Bargain Gidgee Jack Plane

This gidgee Jack plane is only a bargain due to the repaired edge to the hole drilled for the brass abutment on the right hand side of the plane. It will not impact the performance of the tool. 

If you don't have a mechanical jointer to dress your boards, a jack plane/scrub plane is the ideal tool for taking a rough sawn board to the point where it can be dressed with a trying/smoothing plane to achieve a flat surface. 

It has a blade angle of 55 degrees for planing hard, cranky timbers. Alternate use as a 85 degree cabinet scraper by reversing the blade. It is 300mm long x 67mm wide x 38mm high. Weighs 1.3Kg 

This plane has no brass insert in the mouth as it is not required for the task it performs. Comes with a TS blade.
