When ordering, nominate your preferred measurement type and we will set that scale on the top face of the fence for easy reading. The alternate scale can still be read from the underside if required. Regardless of blade width, the left side of the blade registers firmly against the depth stop foot (which is subtly relieved) to ensure the correct amount of blade extends past the skate on both sides. This matters most with the 1\/8\" blade, where the skate is only slightly narrower, and it also supports accurate alignment of the fence scale during manufacture.
