Hold Fasts

$81.00 AUD
Quantity

These hold fasts are made by Harold & Saxon Toolworks in Australia.

They are hand forged from spring steel, with a precision ground head to hit the wood at the correct angle and fits snug into the leather boot.  Laterally sanded shaft for extra dog hole grip.

The holdfast is used in a  3/4" hole in your workbench top.  A 1 3/4" thick or thicker top is required for them to function properly.   If your top is thinner you simply add a packer under the bench where the hold is to go.  They have a 6 1/2" reach and the maximum clamping height is 8" in a 2" thick benchtop.

$81 each.
$155 for a pair ($7 saving).

I love them

Overall experience is great. Took a little while to get the point of contact when holding higher timber over 4 inches and I’ll put some leather on the ends as they mark softer woods.

Excellent hold fast for the price

The faces created a slight marring effect out of the bag 1 min rounding over the face edges with a file fixed the problem, I made leather moccasins for them as well. The pressure produced by the hold fast and the release is great. Excellent hold fasts!
